As one of Germany’s leading regional management organisations, Münsterland e.V. promotes Münsterland’s culture, tourism and economy. A staff of about 40 people works ambitiously on developing the region further for its 1.6 million residents.
Our Tourism Department not only focuses on marketing Münsterland as a region with the best conditions for cyclists and horseback riders, but also strengthens its image by highlighting its wealth of palaces and castles as well as gardens and parks. This profile is further sharpened by our own and by our cooperative projects. Our primary goals are to enhance the quality of the region’s infrastructure, to train tourism professionals and companies and build a strong network between them, to raise the level of service and to advance the process of digitization.
Travel guests can make use of our TOURISMUS-CENTER as a central consulting and booking agency, which in addition not only develops package deals, but also looks out for and classifies new accommodation facilities. Apart from that, our Tourism Department maintains and provides online support for the reservation system Obis, by which accommodations in the whole region can be booked. It also provides the Tourenplaner Münsterland, which offers suggestions for various cycling or riding trails, but primarily assists you in creating your own individual routes.
Furthermore, our Tourism Department promotes the region with regard to the specific target groups at fairs, events and in particular through various online channels.
Among the members of Münsterland e.V. are about 180 companies, 50 chambers, institutions and organisations, 30 individuals, the City of Münster, 65 cities and municipalities of the districts of Borken, Coesfeld, Steinfurt and Warendorf and some neighbouring cities of Münsterland. In that regard, Münsterland e.V. functions as an interface between the region and the EU, the federal and the state governments. It coordinates their political aims and programmes of structural support and tailors them to the needs of Münsterland.
